Pensacola Bay and Santa Rosa Sound are absolutely beautiful places to spend a day on the water with friends and family. Float My Boat Rentals operates out of Flounders Chowder House on Pensacola Beach. Flounders is located right in the heart of Pensacola Beach.
There’s plenty to do once on the boat. A lot of people use the boats to visit Fort Pickens and Fort McRae, which are on the east and west side of Pensacola Pass. Fort McRae is primary only accessible by boat and one of the coolest places to swim with the huge white sand island that is next to it.
There’s a lot of place in Pensacola, Gulf Breeze, and Pensacola Beach where you can hit the sand and spend some time relaxing with you family and friends, not the crowd of people you’ll find on any public beach on Pensacola Beach. A lot of people pack a lunch and make a picnic out of it.
If you just want to ride around and checkout the area then you can do just that on the pontoon boats. Some of the sites you might see are Downtown Pensacola and the amazing waterfront baseball stadium, Naval Air Station Pensacola, or checkout the Gulf Coast Oyster Farms.
Dolphin are seen 90% of the time on a boat rental, so don’t feel like you need to book a dolphin cruise if you’re already getting a boat rental while visiting the area. For the most part they are pretty friendly and will come right up to the boat, but remember it’s illegal to feed them.
If you’re joining us for a boat rental be sure to either grab lunch or an Island cocktail at Flounders, Diesel Fuel is a great drink. They have a large menu with a wide selection of gulf seafood fried, grilled, or blackened and some of the largest nachos you’ll ever see.
